As of August 26th 2024, a federal appeals court has overturned Judge Hickle's ruling against the gender-affirming care ban, permitting Florida to enforce it.
The law reinstated by the court’s decision bans the prescription of puberty blockers and hormone treatments to minors, even if their parents consent.
Additionally, the law mandates that transgender adults can only receive treatment from a doctor and not from a registered nurse or other qualified medical practitioner. Adults who want the treatment must be in the room with the physician when signing the consent form. No matter what happens, community networks have our back.
Trans rights are human rights.
